Marbles in a can in tranny?
A while back while doing a normal shift from 1st to 2nd (no high revs, just in a little traffic), I heard a slight pop from what seemed to be the tranny. I looked in my rear view to see if I ran over something but didn't see anything. Then I heard a consistent grinding "1-2 marbles in a can" noise from the tranny area. The sound has since then always been present, but it has not gotten worse, it may have even gotten a little less noticeable but it is still very annoying.
I took it to one shop and they definitely agree there is some transmission noise going on, but they were unsure as to where it is coming from or what would produce that noise in the transmission, also they observed that the noise happens in every gear accelerating or decelerating except in 5th gear.
Ideas? Other threads that I have missed in my searches? Thanks.

I have the same thing. no diagnoses or cure found yet. the transmission still seems to shift well. there was a thick metallic paste on the magnet on the last oil change so it's not the syncros.
