Lost key dealership says I need to take my car in?

So I lost my only key with the chip but I have a spare key I made a long time ago without the security chip. I called multiple dealerships and they all told me I need to bring my car in to get a new key made (150$ 40$ for the key 98$ to program key)

Although that is a lot of money I don't really mind as much the thing is I would have to tow my car in. I have heard many times from friends that I would only have to prove it's my car with the title, vin number, insurance and a ID card. Anyone else have experience with replacing a main key? I really don't want to bring it in because first it's way too low to fit on a trailer (I can't even fit a stock jack under it.) And second I don't want anyone I don't know touching my car. If I do bring it in you can be sure I'm going to be watching them..

Dealer needs to hook it to the Mazda computer to tell the ECU to recognize the new key.

GET TWO MADE.

Hear me now and believe me later - if you have two, (chipped and registered to the ECU) you can authorize up to six total (the procedure is on this forum) if you get one you are screwed if you lose it, and trucking it to the dealer again.
