losing electrical power

I need some help. Once in a while, after driving for a bit, when hitting the brakes or turning or going into reverse, all the electronics cut out and turn back on. Radio shuts off, lights dim and so on. Help!

'04 manual rx8 with 77000 miles.

Oh and on top of that, after the car is warm and I go to restart it, it takes a little too much cracking to fire up. I think maybe it needs the upgraded starter but the dealership tells me the car already got all its recalls. Help!

Most likely you have a loose electrical connection. Have you checked your battery terminals, they should be cleaned and tightened.

Mine did that when I first got it. I replaced the battery and it fixed all my problems. Depending on what brand of battery you have it might be free to replace. I had a energizer battery made by johnson controls and it was free to replace as long as it wasnt 3 years old, no reciept needed
