long road trip ticking noise and clutch feel
took a 6 hr trip from ATL to Orange Beach, AL this weekend....car ran almost continuously around 80-87mph for about 3-3.5 hours on first tank of gas before stopping.....AC was on low the whole time....
stopped for gas - cranked back up and had a terrible clattering noise under the hood (sounded like near driver side) - then it stopped. Got back on interstate and after getting back up to 60mph+ this ticking sound started - sounded like from same area. AC on or off didnt change. stopped and checked for something loose or flapping under hood - found nothing. continued trip.
weird thing is that 1.0 hr later (still with AC on) got off interstate for last 1.5 hr. of trip. now clutch feels funny - feels like its vibrating when I push it in - doesnt feel right at all, but shifts fine in all gears. turned AC off and left off. after being at a lower speed for about an hour clutch started feeling normal (somewhat) again. get to destination and car is fine rest of weekend.
start trip back home -- car is fine 1.5 hrs to interstate with AC on, after running highway speeds again for 2-3 hrs noise starts again and when getting off for gas, same weird clutch feel - get home and let sit and is fine again.
any ideas -- obviously dealer isnt going to find if you have to drive for hours to get it to happen

I'm currently about 600 miles from home and this worries me very much!
Let me know how it turned out for you!!!
