lifts revs when in gear on idle
been searching the forum like 2 hours now and didn't find anything for this so..
problem / issue:
when the car runs on idle and i put it in a gear (doesen't matter what gear)
it lifts the revs to 1250rpm or higher (if the engine is cold, then higher)
doesen't happen always, but now and then?
any ideas why?
car: 2004 with a 2007 engine (high power) 6-speed manual trans.
started appearing after i found out that the "switch" on the clutch pedal assembly that indicates if the clutch pedal is pressed down or not (or that's what i assumed it indicates)
don't know if these two are connected and the reason is there?
ordered a new "clutch pedal switch" via dealer today.

Typically, the neutral switch or clutch interlock switch issues make the revs bounce around or "idle hunt", but if it's only being impacted by putting the car into gear, then yes, it is probably one of those two.
Otherwise, in case that doesn't fix it, the only time I've seen or dealt with when the revs sit at one point is either when the engine is REALLY cold, the ECU increases the idle revs, or once when my accelerator pedal sensors froze up and it disabled the pedal, set the revs at 3,000rpm, and left it there, regardless of what I did. Only solution to that was to let the interior of the car warm up, shut it off, and restart it. Pedal returned to normal.
