Ok ... I'll put on the flame suit cause I'm here and too lazy to go search.
Preload the endlink ... can you explain please?
By preload you mean the suspension has the cars weight resting on it .... loosen the bolts on the clamps for the sway bar and re-tighten? Or the bolts to the end links?
Thanks .. bit of a noob question I know but I'm having similar issues with my Progress sways

The Mazda WS Manual says
Front
31.8 - 44.8 ft/lbs of torque
Rear
31.8 - 44.8 ft/lbs of torque
However I found this DIY RB Sway Bar thread which states a different value for the front on post #4

I'm suffering from the same issue. Progress sways with racing beat adjustable end links. I installed them April 2012, and the clunk/pop developed a couple months ago. I've tried everything, including re-greasing the bushings, preloading the suspension before tightening the endlinks/jam nuts. When it pops it's very startling, as you can feel it through the steering wheel. I'm ready to drive my car off a cliff!
Here's a video I took today

knocking could also be binding on the endlinks ... if you are using adjustable endlinks, more than likely you adjusted them incorrectly and they are too short/long on one side.
If you are having a problem with binding on the bushings, put teflon tape on the bar where the bushing sits before adding grease.
