How do I diagnose the unit? Can i fix it myself? Where is it located?

Keyless entry recently went out on my 2004. Bought a new remote (same model and vin) and followed re-program procedure exactly and still no success.

same issue, i think the module is found under the glove box, but I don't know exactly. Anyone have any blueprints?
