that sounds like you need to get more practice with the clutch....either that or you have some issues...mine only jerks sometimes at low speeds in low gears but when im on it the car doesnt jerk

 

Yes, the car should not "jerk" during a 3-4 shift unless you let off the clutch very abruptly. If it does, there may be something wrong. I don't know why you would experience a delay in power unless you are shifting so roughly that the TCS kicks in and cuts out the throttle temporarily.
