interresting MS Strut Bar on customers car

So, I did a clutch swap for a customer and when he brought me his car his MS strut bar looked like this:

He swears it wasn't like this the night before...lol...but he said he tried to start his car in gear and his car shuttered like a 1000hp charger......

It turned out his TO bearing was disintegrated but needless to say after I did the swap his engine is blow.

anyone have any explanation...I am dumbfounded as there is nothing near the bar and no physical impact on the bar....so the only thing left is his chassis twisted right (which I don't believe happened)

i don't see ho a clutch swap could cause that. If the vehicle was not driveable when he brought it in for clutch swa? he was probably trying to use it as a mounting point to pull the car. that's how i broke mine just like that. loll

Yeah I think there is way more to the story. Using it as a tow point is probably a safe bet.

Why don't ppl use OE tow hook....it's not hard to take out from trunk and screw it in.
I guess popping the hood is easier. lol

He lost the OE Tow hook (I gave him one), but I didnt consider using it as a tow point...makes more sense and he is embarrassed to admit it (or his dad did and didnt tell him)

Hard to tell in the pic but it totally twisted the mounts....thats some serious Yanking.....maybe they tried to pull start it....LOL

that sounds like the most reasonable explanation, unless he jumped the car 20 feet dukes of hazzard style..
