Input needed: CEL Code - P1686 - Oil Metering Pump
Getting random limp mode which I believe is related to OMP switch adjustment. The OMP is working, but I have a P1688 code. Can't seem to find a clear explanation with pics on how to reset the switch ?
Experiencing the same here i have an intermittent limp until last week it got permanent n no luck after adjusting the switch ...
Gotta replace the pump ig ...
but there are some great thrads in this forum abt the omp limp by kamhus and another thread explaining the whole omp search n see adjusting it is pretty easy

Help a guy out? 😅
From my experience it is likely that the Pump position sensor has unlearned the position of 0
If they want to replace it for free.........then I would go there and get it it done.....but if they are going to charge you...I would try and reset the sensor to see if it works.
You will need to be slightly mechanically inclined to do it...if you want to send me a PM and I'll help you
As for driving the car...it is in Limp Mode...so you won't be able to hurt it
If you want..... add 8 oz of pre-mix to a full tank of gas to be sure
