inner shift boot replacement
So since my dealer decided to **** me over and put rags to silence the noise coming from the gears every time i shift.
here is the pic
they said there wasnt anything wrong with the tranny or the gears. but im still worried, idk what to do.
until i figure out what to do next, the weather has been great here in CT so i decided to at least replace the inner shift boot to reduce the noise.
anyways my question is where can i find one? i looked around and all i could find was for miatas. and they run for about 50 us$.
any help is better than no help. thx in advance.
and also im thinking about calling that 1 800 number for mazda and tell them what happen. since i got my new outer shift boot from Polakgraphics.

You need to go back to the service manager and ask him if putting a rag in the center console is a Mazda authorized repair procedure. Then you need to ask him politely to fix the problem, because you really would rather not make a fuss and be forced to contact MANO and the BBB. Be polite, and escalate up the chain the proper way, it will help your case. Service manager first, then the dealer manager, then you call MANO if they refuse to do anything about the boot.
If the car is under warranty there is no excuse for not replacing the shift boot free of charge.
What sort of noises is your transmission making?

5th gear is grinding other gears are also doing it but not anywhere as loud. and now from time to time its hard to put it in reverse, never happened before. i took it for a spin with a tech in there from the dealer and he said there was a noise but he wasnt sure what it was.
i waited for about an hour and he came out and said everything was fine. it was just a loose bolt around the shift boot. i drove the care and 99% of the noise was gone. so i order a new outer shift boot to replace from polakgraphics and when i went to change it thats what i saw.
thx for your help.
edit. the car is not under warranty but does still have the tranny warranty on it until this october. or i forgot how many miles. what do you think are they trying to make me wait until october. since they noticed i really dont drive the car alot.
