How to clean throttle body?

Still trying to solve rough idle/hard start issues. I want to clean the throttle body to see if that helps. Long story short:

So far I've replaced plugs, coils, wires... no change, pulls smoother but none were fouled and I think the coils were still good, not worth the $250 bucks I spent.

BG44k + runnin' the hell out of it, no change.

Cleaned MAF, no change.

Reset fuel trims (KAM and PCM resets)

New cat, no change on idle or start but definitely runs better in the higher RPM's.

Newest flash, no change.

Haven't had motor mounts checked and don't really know but I would think it would be a worse vibration if it were mounts. Could be fuel pump/filter but it's expensive to have that done and I can't do it myself. As for the hard start, I have a new starter, just haven't had time to put it on yet.

Only other thing I can think of is low compression so obviously I'm trying to rule everything else out first. So if you guys can help me clean the throttle body, I'll go on to the next possiblity....... this is frustrating.

Great pics but it's kind of vague for people who haven't done this before and in the Aussie forum so I thought I would post here and see if you guys could elaborate. He took his TB completely off, is that necessary? Or can I just take the intake off and clean it that way? Can I use carb cleaner?

Take the intake off and then take a towel and spray some brake cleaner on in it and wipe the throttle body down. I do not believe that cleaning the throttle body will help. Mazda has a TSB for hard starts so check into that. Mazda came out with an upgraded starter. Aslo the rough idle can be caused by broken motor mounts so check them out as well

I'm aware of the TSB's and had the new flash done already, which didn't help. Probably should have mentioned that this has been a problem since day 1 after my engine was replaced, so I don't think it's carbon build-up. Motor mounts are a very likely culprit... but I can't do them myself.

Just pisses me off that they probably didn't replace them when the engine was replaced, and on top of that, never got the new starter when I originally brought it in with flooding symptoms. I even TOLD them the 8's were being retro-fitted with new starters and they looked at me like I had a 3rd eye.

Now I'm out of warranty... those parts alone, $500 or so. anyways didn't start this thread to bitch about it

Thanks for tips, guys.
