horsepower lost above 6k
Has anyone had horsepower lost above 6k? then have it come back when it's flash ;then horsepower goes away again........then comes back when it's flashed..then repeats? above to blow a freaking lid with taking this car back forth over this issue........tech line is no help to the dealer......nothing has work.......even replaced the damn throttle body.......none of it has helped...........I continue to tell the azz holes to check the ignition coils.........dont think they listening..........going to the service manager............if this bug free flash does not finally solve it......and going up the ladder.......

He's as bad as Can
What do you mean by " have it come back when it's flash" ? I had an issue on the track where I lost power over 7,500 @ 110 MPH. Acted like a fuel cut off got a CEL also. Then when I “backed off “ power returned and the car acted like normal. Also how much fuel was in the car during this problem? The end result was the dealer changed the plugs.

when i say come back i mean the power came back .....above 6k when the flash was done.........then few hundred miles later........it disappeared again..........flashed again....new plugs.....came back again............few hundred miles later....power loss again.......new throttle body..........power loss was not resorted after this...when the bug flas was doe 2 weeks ago..power came back.......and now....it's gone again above 6k.........

The coils is a good idea... have you performed your own visual inspection yet?
You're not experiencing knock and limp mode are you? No flashing CEL?

Rangers Lead The Way!
I've done 3 dyno runs so far with my RX-8. I've noticed at 6250 RPM there is 10hp dip before picking back up again at 6500 RPM. But, the average driver shouldn't even notice 10hp gain/loss. Maybe your issue is normal

i bought it with 4 miles on it....too my knowledge it has not been flooded..........i have not had any flooding problems...........it is not normal........for this car to do this............if I cant get it solved. bye bye rx8 .....hello G35......

Purchasing the car with 4 miles on the odometer does not mean it was never flooded.
Some cars had issues at the port or simply by moving them around the dealers lot. Even the transport drivers ended up with a special instruction sheet to avoid it.
Some cars will experience a power loss from the rear of the converter crumbling and partially plugging the exhaust. ( of course it ends up in the muffler)
If the tech can duplicate the issue...have them drop the exhaust and check it out.

I've seen 5 so far. All pre-delivery flood cars.
When these cars started rolling in even the dealers had issues with moving the cars around.
I remember more than once..the car would not start but the main converter was so hot it glowed red from the fuel burning inside. I'm sure what we are starting to see at this point is the result of the damage to the monolith..since it wasn't designed to handle that type of heat.
If they check the cat and it is bad..be sure to have them check the muffler.
