High beam failure

Guessing game:

My high beams and daytime running lights are not working.
The blue high beam idiot light still works.
I checked the fuses and did a quick visual inspection of the relays. (all in place)
I find it hard to beleive that both high beam bulbs would fail at the same time since one is fairly new.
Anyone want to guess what's causing this?

power spike maybe, but I dont really think so.

Or some water went into the compoments.

how old is your 8 ? ask your dealer to check it.

if your 8 is faily new. it should be covered under warranty.

You're right....

You are correct, the chances of both hi-beam bulbs going at the same time are remote.

It would have to be the module that switches them.

There have been two instances I know of, of the DRL module quitting.

You usually can't determine the health of a relay by visual check.

It's not unheard of for both bulbs to blow.

I don't like guessing. To find the answer you need to trace the circuit with a voltmeter or test light. Easy!

You've already replaced a HiBeam? Dang, those DRLs must be hard on 'em. But at least everyone is able to *cough* see your car in the daytime.
