FL HI:) Whats up guys. Power loss

just change my spark plugs, spark plug wire and ignition coils. All by myself when great. Had my baby for about 1yr now. Took great care of it, change oil and the whole maintenance routines with rx8. BTW am a noob. But over the months I had power loss. First gear, no gas (only clutch) car moves slow, when i first got it, it was much faster off the clutch. Any ideas anyone. catalytic converter?(any testes I can do to find out) Anyone know the warranty(2005 RX8, 71K). Also the car idles smooth but every here and there its a little jumps(small). Many thanks

Checking your cat would be a good idea, it really is easy assuming you have a good jack at home and some jackstands. Just 3 nuts in the front and 2 in the back and you can tilt it forward and take a gander inside.

lol @ testes.

If you're experiencing power loss in low RPMs but not at high RPMs, it probably isn't the cat. It could be that your compression is dropping. This would cause your low RPM power output to steadily decrease and make it harder to take off from a stop. Having any hot-start issues, by chance?

When hot, how long would you say it takes from when you turn the key to when the engine starts?

sounds the same as my issue (05, 77k miles) but I thought I just needed plugs, then my CEL came on for catalyst problems. So I'd say it's the cat.

I'm still not entirely clear about the OP's problem.

Low acceleration after engaging the clutch then accelerating?
Or
Low acceleration just releasing the clutch without compressing the gas pedal?

1st gear idle is about 3 mph for me, most clogged cats would create slow acceleration in upper rpm's and may even create stalling at idle.

OP please be more specific as to your problem.
