Help Identifying what this part is

Took my car to the shop for a brake job and the mechanic showed me that this part had broken in two... He told me it was an active steering link? I looked online and through all the repair manuals and can't seem to figure out what this thing is called.

Not my picture, found it on the forums, but I didn't think to snap a picture and my car is sitting at the shop.

Anyone have a clue what this thing is called and what it does?

Thanks

Thanks again. Doesn't look like the arm is available for sale as it's own separate piece. The OEM ones are $500 with the sensor.

Looks like it's made of some kind of cheap plastic. Anyone know if I could use PVC or ABS Cement to weld it back together? or perhaps bracing it with another piece of metal?

I believe mine is metal as it was broken in half at one point from the prior owner who had it welded. if yours is plastic, epoxy will work just fine.

Id also check the for sale section as plenty of cars being parted out. I just bought a xenon headlight from someone so i know his car has the sensor if its not broken.
