Help, Heater Doesn't work

Guys, need help here desperately. My Rx8's heater doesn't work.

Any suggestions? Other things check out fine including water temperature, weird:Eyecrazy:

No problem, we have a solution!

Involves possible soldering, so you may want to find a friendly tech to do it....

The soldering fix will set you up right and totally fix the problem...

I haven't got around to doing that yet... so in the short term I took the knob off, and just wedged some paper against the knob stem to keep the heater at level 16 in the diagnostic mode.

It may flutter around sometimes, but it is a good short term fix.

I tried taking some pictures of my footwell lights in this pic, but you can sort of see the paper lodge in the knob socket.

Only a good short term fix.

I did it on my car. Takes less than an hour of your time to pull the controls out, solder, and put it back together. Works like a charm. On mine, only 2 of the 3 pins were broken solders, but I figured since the thing was out, I'd go ahead and redo all of them. I use a "cold fusion" POS as-seen-on-tv for my small soldering, and it works great, even for someone like me that just plain can't solder very well...

Thank y'all, StealthTL, Vyndictive, RX8-Frontier, the problem is exactly what you depicted. I have fixed it and the heater works pretty well right now!
