I was driving my daughter 05 RX8 and noticed white smoke coming into the cabin nd smelled oil. I pulled over and by the alt I saw oil was all over the place. Has anyone had this happen to them??

 

Based on the location it could be the Oil Injector Lines coming from the OMP they run right through that area.

Edit: Although I don't think the volume of oil running through those lines would be enough for it to be all over the place. Was an oil change recently done? Could it have been spilled there?

 

get it to a shop or dealership asap.
could you tell where the oil was coming from? maybe a loose oil filter?

 

Also have you checked the oil level? Is it low?

I agree with Jedi though definitely get it to a shop ASAP lack of oil will cause serious problems if you let it go.

 

I changed the oil 2 months ago but the oil pressure light did not come on. I had it towed to my house and will have it towed to a Mazda dealership Monday. Where are the seals located at?
