My rx8 wont start I let it set in my garage for a couple of months and now it wont start, i gave it a jump no start, now i changed the battery no start, my next step will be to remove the spark plugs and clean, then maybe change ignition system This is really pissing me off since I work like 70 hrs a week F&$^ing aviation work cant get off past 6 never enough time!!

Hermitage Holdout
My first guess would be flooded. If you can find a little time it might be worth trying a couple of the de-flood methods you can pull off this forum on that topic.

Take the Plugs out, and if you have an industrial grade vacuum you can use it to suck the extra juice outa the plugs hole.

He never said if it turned over or not and if it will not turn over it might be that one of the keys he's trying has lost it's memory.no problem try another key that is works.otherwise clean the plugs, rev to 3,500 before you shut it off and put a battery tender on it to keep the battery fresh!

Need more info.................does it try to crank? Meaning are you sure juice is getting to the starter? Have you cleaned all the terminals? I've see cars not crank even when jumped because the cable connections were so corroded.

Mine is in the shop right now getting a new crank angle sensor..
I am getting it back tomorrow. It was not the plugs or the battery, but this sensor that went bad.

Yeah it would crank for 8 to 10 seconds and then I would turn off the key and attempt to start it again and it would start.
I actually had to tow my car into Mazda because it just would flat out not start the first time that it happened. They did the deflooding procedure on it but as we come to find out, that was just a symptom of the real problem.. the crank angle sensor. There is a code associated with it and when I get my car back today or tomorrow, i'll post that info up...
I have about 75,000 miles on my car now.

I'm sure if it threw a code and they read it, that someone on here has either put it on the list(see below) or knows what it is.........but I'd like to see what it was! yeah.....that's definitely a new one!
