Hi i have a 2005 rx8, drives well, BUT, when i go to stop at the intersection it stalls and takes a couple of trys to get to start again, can anyone help me please, FROM NEW ZEALAND.

check you compression and catalytic converter. Depending on the kilometers i'd check the fuel pump too, but it would take way more to start up again in that case.

 

Have you noticed any power loss??? Significant change in gas mileage???

Hi all, well yes i dont mind at all, after checking all codes x2 once by a dealer and once by me and none found, i fitted new plugs, trailing one was so tight it took me 45 mins just to remove from the housing, also oil and filter as they where worn out, oil was very very black, in between doing other things over the engine, checking for air leaks etc,etc, i removed the brake booster pipe and sprayed CRC into the engine, that would of gone down into one housing, it picked up 100rpm on idle, so i mixed 300mls of oil and 100mls of morays with fuel and feed into fuel tank, went for a very hard drive pulling it out to MAX rpm, at idle it must of picked up about 200rpm and under load was much stronger, air con on headlights wipers, etc, has not stalled at all since, this car has been sitting around for a few weeks and maybe a nana drove it back in japan and never went high in the rpm, maybe the seals where a little carbon up and sticking, a compression test was done before i got the car and was showing a good reading on all chambers, runs very good now, good throttle response and much smother to drive, ( all of the rx8 engines i have stripped down for repairs they do tend to be very dry inside, maybe a couple of extra mls of redex in the fuel may help these engines last a little longer, well i hope this helps , cheers 20B.NZ
