So you put 4 qts in plus what was in there before. I believe the 8 only holds like 3.7 qts. I would check your dipstick again. It has to be overfilled.

just curious, but did you turn the car on and drive it for a few minutes between checks? Your dipstick may be accurate, but if you didn't do this, it wouldn't show the correct reading.

How do you know the "dip stick is accurate as a rock" ? How often (miles) do you usually check your oil? I'd suggest at least every 600 miles (every 3rd fill-up) until you figure out your car's usage. Did you happen to know what the oil pressure gauge was showing when the light came on?

I sure hope my Oil Level Warning Light comes on before the engine's 2+ quarts low and hopefully the oil pressure gauge will be at "L".

Your suppose to start the engine and warm it up before you check the oil level.

Sounds like you over filled it.

You will have to drain it and check the air intake tube.

You may have oil in there and on your MAF.

Yep.......need to get the extra out of there, clean everything, check it more often, and the proper way.
