I searched through dozens of posts, but can't seem to find anyone with a similar issue.

I recently purchased a 2004 RX-8 that was stock with the exception of a Pioneer AVH-P3200 head unit. My heat and A/C worked great for the first three months, and then suddenly stopped a few weeks ago. I took it to Mazda and had them run diagnostics. I was told that my problem had to do with interference from my head unit, causing my A/C controls to malfunction. I have had a few short lived successes by pushing on the face plate, but no fix to the problem, and at $138 p/hr I'd rather not pay Mazda to look for the exact problem.

Anyone else have a similar problem or tips on how to possibly fix this? I'm relatively new to the car, as I haven't taken much apart yet, but I'm not afraid to start learning!

(On a side note, if anyone happens to have this or a similar DVD playing head unit and knows how to enable DVD playback, that would be appreciated. And yes, I have tried it with the parking break engaged.)
