Grinding metal sound
This has been going on for a while but had stopped and now is back again worse than ever. Usually in the low RPMs, 2-5k, there's a grinding sound. Like a thousand tiny bits of metal being swirled around. Sometimes it even last into the higher RPMs and is worse when the car is cold. I don't go above 4k before she's warmed up and redline daily. Currently have 45,000 miles 2005 model MT. Any ideas?

The sound is from the engine bay or transmission. Not the shifter. At work currently so i'll take a listen to that youtube sound clip when I get home to see if it's similiar.

Definitely sounds a lot a like.. I'll have to see tomorrow if it's coming from the glovebox area. To me sounds like the engine bay.. we'll see.

I heard the sound in the youtube clip, doesn't sound right. I have a strange whirring/grinding sound also. Does it go away after you push the clutch in? If so it could be your pilot/throw out bearing
