greddy turbo problem

i just installed the greddy turbo kit a few months ago i am only running 6 psi right now,i have an adaptronic ecu ditched the e manage ultimate,i just received a base map from Andy,it runs alright the air fuel runs about 12 idle and 14 to 15 cruising, once i hit 4k rpm it drops to about 11 then it sputters and cuts out?I just put in new plugs, coils and wires.i have put way to much into this so far and it still needs a bigger fuel system and bhr coils before i get it tuned at turblown,i dont have $2k more at the moment, anyone that could maybe help troubleshoot my problem would be greatly appreciated.thanks

sounds like you were sent a really rich base tune.this is a good thing since running lean means instant death. you need an actual tune specific for your car. That's your problem

Your problem is very solvable on your own. A couple questions:

1. Which external wideband O2 sensor are you running?
2. Have you opened WARI?
3. Have you read the Adaptronic Select PDF included with the install?

finally someone with adaptronics knowledge chimes in. Doesn't it have an "autolearn" feature?

I would have a trunk monkey tune my car before I would let Turdblown (bunch of hacks) tune it.

Matt,

Take Shelldude up on his advice and then if you still do not feel comfortable tuning on your own then get with a proper RX-8 Tuner like Steve Kan, Kane, or Mazdamaniac. Turdblown would be the last people you would want tuning your turbo RX-8. You spent so much, and the tuning is the most important part of your build so don't try and save couple hundred bucks now.

He seriously can do it on his own easily. I tuned to 6 psi (about 140 kPA) with nothing more than a couple days road driving. Then finished up 11 psi and WOT on the dyno.

I have a couple more questions but I wanted to get an idea of where he's starting. The manual (PDF) included with the WARI software download/install steps you thru everything you need to get a good tune, assuming you've got a decent external wideband connected and no other latent problems.

The MAP system is far more forgiving (and simpler) than the OE MAF train wreck.

Thanks everyone for all the help lol,i have opened wari and tryed compared maps that i had got from turblown and Andy, the only one that ran decent was Andy's map,i have a mtxl wideband, and i had never received software with my unit,i have about $7k into this car and it still needs more lol,the reason i had to ditch my greddy e manage is because no one in Minnesota will tune my damn car,i spent hours calling every car shop in this state, modern automotive said they would but they have blown up rx8s before.turblown just moved here so thats my last option

The e-manage is garabage.

Shell should be able to get you tuned, send him whatever money you were going to pay turdblown.

Both Kane and mazdamaniac can tune your car remotely. You could also contact Steve Kan.

Wow... You can tune it yourself and most likely get better results...

I am not sure if Steve, jeff, or Kane can tune the adaptronic though.

For sure Steve and MM can, I know Steve works with Adaptronic and I believe MM has experience with MAP tuning.

Im getting alot of info down,im just worried about blowing up my engine if something gets messed with in the wrong way,a new motor isnt cheap,i dont really trust any tuner shops around here to do it from what ive heard they just want the money even if they dont know anything about rotarys.and if they blow my **** up they will just walk away and say your problem man!
