Full of Hot Air?

My vents will blow nothing but hot air out. With A/C on/off...doesn't matter...all directions of air work, but nothing but hot air. I hear the A/C compressor...I don't think it's the A/C that's the problem b/c you'd at least get ambient air, dont even get that. It's like everything is being cycled through the hot air.

The problem started a couple weeks ago. It would switch from cold A/C to hot air and back to A/C. Then I had to start turning it to HOT and back to cold again. Now it's all hot.

Any ideas?

It's your HVAC controls, they are bad. There's a TSB on it I believe or you can just simply fix it yourself if you're confident about soldering. There's a DIY on the soldering. SEARCH next time.

I did search

and didn't find anything close to this DIY you speak of.

The TSB I found was this one:

Is that the one you're talking about?

thanks,

Derek

I think that's the only TSB (the one you posted) that they have for the HVAC issue.

The condenser on 04's do not have protector screens, there is a good chance you have a small hole and lost your r134. If that is the case you can do what I DID.

Hey thanks for that link too. I just checked this:

"Easy Diagnosis:
The easiest way to verify this is to turn on the radio, press and hold the power on/off button and press and hold the scan-up button for a second (full second). The word "A/C TEMP" should appear on the left of the display and a number from 0 to 16 on the right. I suspect yours will have the number 0 (or 16 if heating only problem) displayed no matter where you turn the temperature control ****. If this is the case you could turn the temp. **** to full heat and see if it goes to 16 after pushing down or to the right on the ****.
In a working system, the number moves evenly in increments of 1, from 0 to 16 as you turn the temperature ****. "

And sure enuf it was stuck at 13, but I can play with it a bit and get it to go back down....I know that wont last, but me and my brother will take the radio out in a couple weeks and do the solder job. Thanks again....can't believe the No Heat didn't return in the 'hot air' search.
