ok well i was drivin around today and lately i had been babting it like never going above like 5k save a few times(rare) and i decided to get on it well i floored it, it seemed a lil weak than the CEL started flashing and in third gear it fellt like power plateaued at 7k. when the light stopped i drove nice for a lil bit than tried again to see if it would do it again... it did same scenario, than later i tried it a 3rd and nothing still felt a bit weak up high in 3rd. Should i check my plugs or any ideas?


also when i start my car in the mornin it makes like a really fast raddle noise only for like .5-1 second any clue what that could be?

 

first problem sounds like misfire. Mine does that (flashing CEL + hickup in the power) occasionally before the cold plugs warm-up.

 

Could be the start of the collasped CAT problem.

 

Mine does it to this day.. Damn Mazda design I think. I now have almost 45k on my car. It seems to be a common problem among many.

 

I have the same check engine issue...my RX-8 stalled on the road the other day. It was scary...after driving normal existing the freeway....as I stepped on the clutch pedal fully to release to neutral gear, the engine shut down suddenly loosing all control. All the lights in the gauge cluster lited up. I have to start the ignition while the car was moving at 55mph.

Has this happen to anyone?

 

Fuel pump maybe?

btw, I had the hardest time with this word in Nemesis8's post: "collasped", 'till I realized it was actually mis-spelled. How about "collapsed".

 

I just got my car back from the dealership after getting the two recent recalls done and it is doing this ALL THE ******* TIME now.
