Flasher Control Module Failure?

On the way to work this morning my hazard indicators went nuts. I could hear a relay buzzing instead of the expected clicking for the turn signal or hazard signal. No input from the turn signal stalk or the hazard button corrected the issue.

When I got to work, it had corrected itself, and I could not reproduce it; everything worked as expected.

I know the lights were flashing with the indicators on the dash, so it would appear (following the FSM) that the flasher control module is the culprit.

So two questions:

- Since there are no relays on the prints, can anyone confirm that the outputs on the flasher module are relay driven?

- Has this failed on anyone before?

Nothing else seemed affected, but its kind of embarrassing going down the road with your flashers going off at about 2kHz. Thanks!

Mine started doing the same thing. I have no idea what's going on with it. It usually stops after a couple of hours but I know I'm going to have to get it fixes sooner or later.
