Fans Not kicking on

The fans turn on when you switch on the ac but that is all. They wont kick on any other time. The fuses and relays are good i have checked them already. Could it be an ecu issue?

I have been using my scanner to watch the temps and it continues to rise unless I have the heat on. and driving with the heat on sort of sucks. I would have done more digging in the forum but I will be driving to Tennessee soon and need to know wether I need to go to the dealer before I go or not.

What year is your car? I have a 04 and the fans never kick in until it is really hot out like 100+ out even then they really only kick in when stoped, off or AC is running

Edit
Forgot this. You said your watching your temp climb what is it climbing to ?

I believe in a stock rx8 the fans open at about 212 degrees. If yours do not open at this point, and the fuses are ok, next thing I would check would be the thermostat.

The fans are good to go. Got my temp settings confused. Working on more than one car at a time is what got me. Thanks guys!

Check out the $100 thread below. there is an easy fans on low mod I run at the track. Solder one wire, connect it to ground. I also have a MM tune with a lower turn on temp.
