Failed motor mount?? Need help!

Ive done some searching and sifting thru the forums and Im pretty sure Ive diagnosed my issue as being failed motor mount(s). I would like some final oppinions though, to see if everyone agrees with my diagnosis.

When applying power in gear (any gear) the shift **** and entire transmission lunges UPWARD. The **** jumps up into the palm of my hand a good 1.5 inches, and when I let off power, it sinks back down. Im having rattling noises from the tranny area at idle, and more recently, the shifter seems to wobble back and forth violently when excelerating.

Am I correct in thinking I have a broken motor mount, or less likely, differential mount?

The car is currently sitting at a friends appartment next tomy university, the tranny movement became so bad I do not want to drive the car anymore. Im gunna have it flat-bedded to a dealership on monday morning, hopefully its only the mounts and they can replace them with some sort of quickness.

Letme know what you guys think, and wish me luck. This is my first problem Ive ever had with my8 thus far, so Im pretty worried.

you have it right, and if you change them yourself, make sure you check the ppf alignment..

go to mazsport.net and get some real mounts before you replace them.

Uh, no. They are overkill in just about every situation until you are into serious FI power.

+1, though it is worth checking the motor mounts.
If the upper part of the "tang" on the right side mount is in contact with the aluminum bracket when the motor is off but hot, it probably needs to be replaced.

Soooo what are we thinking here? take it to mazda and have them check it out? I kinda wanted to order the mounts immediatly, but now Im not sure if thats the issue, so Im hesitant.

I guess Ill see what mazda says and go from there.

if you have warranty, let Mazda check it.

if not, check your ppf for loose bolt first. b4 you order your new mount
