Mmmk So i just got my Rx-8 2 months ago and i have put 3000km on it so far but anyways...

I was driving yesterday in a quiet part of my town doin a little drifting and it was all going well till i got to this one shitty corner, over steered it and spun out... my car stalled, and when i went to start it it sounded like it was having a tough time starting... then it finally did start and i took her for a drive and my engine light came on ... so being scared out of my mind i shut of the vehicle and popped the hood and took a look... it didnt seem like anything was wrong so i got back into my vehicle, started it up and the light turned off :S...

any1 know why it came on?

 

Would help out if you could have pulled the code causing the CEL.
Was the CEL flashing or did it stay on? If it didn't flash, then I wouldn't worry about it.

 

No it just stayed on for like 2 minutes of driving but didnt flash :S...

how do you pull the code?? dont you need one of those things you plug in to your car?

 

Your car is drivable with the CEL on, but flashing CEL indicates more of a mechanical issue (to which you shouldn't drive it). With the CEL on, you can drive up to AutoZone and get the code pulled, but once it turns off, the scanner won't find anything wrong (obviously).
