Engine Light Indicator

alright well yesterday i had to go work out of town and i didnt drive my 8 all day, the previous day it was just fine, i wake up today and turn my 8 on and the engine light is on. Any ideas?

what year is the car? how many miles? was it blinking?? any loss of power?

hmmmm sounds like your gas cap...

try to get the code read...

dont mean to threadjack but,
same here, i get engine light without any noticeable symptoms. i unplug battery clear the memory and it goes away for a couple weeks.

car is '04 mt 60,000mi.

04 and some 05s have faulty gas caps, they dont stay on tight...you can go to autozone and pick up a new one for about 15bucks or take the car back to mazda and if it is the gas cap theyll replace it for free

whats up people.. my car is havin some issues at the moment. starting up is a hassel and it really seems bogged down for power. been goin on for a week. some days are better than others. any ideas?

^when was the last time you replaced your ignition coils and spark plugs?

its an 04 i bought it like 2 months ago, i havent replced a thing on it since. not sure what all was done before me.

g8ors thats your best bet right now, its just maintenance, all that can be done by yourself...look in the DIY section for coils and spark plugs
