Hi, I got an engine light 2 times already, the first time was because of the fuel seal, which, besides from clicking, the sensor didn't pick it up

anyhow, I need help, I just installed a short ram intake then test drove it, while driving, nothing came up, but when I shut off the engine, and restarted it, the chech engine light came on, I put back the stock box and it didn't go away, what should I do?

 

Find out what CEL is it, its probably your gas cap acting up again.

go to any parts store and have them read the DTC, then go from there. It is emmissions related, thats the only things that set the MIL. Without knowing what DTC there is no way to tell whats wrong.

 

betcha nycgps is right, unless the car isn't running right chances are its the gas cap or a misfire. Either one should disappear within the next couple drives cycles.

 

make sure ur gas cap is TIGHT. I mean TIGHT TIGHT, turn the freaking **** with at least 6 clicks.

I had my CEL on ONCE before, because I did my fill-up in jersery ... those morons didnt shut it good .... (nothing against NJ, I like to do my fill-ups there, at least 4 bux cheaper than NY)

Check your caps, drive it a few times, see if it goes away. if it just wont go away, take ur car to autozone, get them to pull the code, Write it down, and come back here post it up, why ? cuz Autozone will try to sell you whatever BS they got.
