Mikey, that is a HUGE help! Thank you very much posting that link. You may be new to the forums, but you are helpful man and it is most certainly appreciated! (No worries about the multiple posts, I am new to the forum and I am constantly getting "newb'd". but haters gonna hate. lol.)
Since you are in the Tampa area, I'll let you know if there any cool meets or anything close by when they come around! There is a beach Honeymoon Island that I know a lot of rx owners go out there for meets. I haven't been there just yet but I want to make it out to one soon because it seems like a lot of fun. I'm just north of the Tampa area, and I'm always trying to befriend other rx owners because it seems good to have rx friends (I've had this car for over 3 years now, but I have no rx friends to ride out with or anything as of yet though. Anyone who drives this car in this town seems to be a tool... for realz. I'll wave as they drive by and most rx owners just have a completely blank stare on their face through the windshield like I am crazy for waving at them or something. lol)

Redline, I am totally seeing what you are saying. This heat is CRAZY intense, so I can definitely understand why the rubber and hoses would start to wear away and whatnot... That's really good advice, I am definitely going to want to start replacing everything cooling related for the sake of the car, regardless to whether I can afford it or not seeing as I still OWE on this rx, and its my only form of transportation... LOL :P and thanks for posting that link dude, I am at work right now but as soon as I get off of work I will look

From what I gathered just from how my car is running and from what EVERY helpful member on this thread has told me, I am just going to have to save a bunch of money and go big on replacing as many cooling system parts as I can in order to save the life of my engine.
(I already took care of the thermostat, but now the radiator, water pump, hoses etc.) And I'll try to take it from there!

Thanks to EVERYONE who has responded to my thread. You're help is most definitely greatly appreciated and I will do my best to try to help everyone else on this forum just as you all have helped me! I'll keep posting updates in case anyone is interested but for now until I can save some money I can only do so much. lol

No problems, it just seems easier if you plan to keep the car doing the whole system because it is very time consuming getting the radiator out and once it is, you have all kinds of room to work with to do everything else. Just hit me up if you have any questions.

Glad I found this. I just bought my first rx8 04 gt. after driving home,I too noticed first the smell,it's unmistakable. and the spray all over the engine,it's small not like a bucket of water but noticeable, I also noticed a small pool of coolant bellow where the overflow hose goes into the block,I took the hose off finding the leak and fixed that.
Hopping I had fixed my problem also by replacing the radiator cap...I did not.
so Today I took apart the air box and started looking around,It looks like maybe a leaky hose but there is also what could be a small hairline crack in the top of the radiator,I'll find out tomorrow in the morning and, really hope it's a hose. if not hopefully I can solder the top at lest for a temp fix until I can get a new radiator.
Anyway I'm posting this, because no one yet had mentioned a cracked radiator, which is good news to me anyway, well fingers crossed and thanks for this thread guys.
