Engine Being Replaced by Mazda, Few Questions
Hello, I recently had my Rx8 compression tested at the dealership. They are replacing my engine under warranty (yay!) I just had one quick question, when the replace the engine, do they replace the flywheel or anything like that? Reason Im asking is because I recently had an aftermarket lightweight flywheel and clutch installed. Really wouldnt want that $500 flywheel to go down the drain..lol
Thanks for the help in advance!

Get on the phone to the service rep asap. The replacement engine blocks from the reman facility come with an OEM flywheel. You will need them to transfer the flywheel. The clutch you have will be reused.

It's best to do this. When my engine was replaced (3x times) the mech was observant enough to see it wasn't OEM. I guess when I told them, the message wasn't passed on to the mech. Yes, I told them each time. It just seemed there was a comment every time I picked the car back up.
