About a week ago the electronic locking mechanism on my driver's side door stopped working. It's not the transmitter on the keyring because the lock still doesn't operate even when the button is pushed on the door (passenger side functions normally). I have an '04 Sport with 37K miles on it.

Can anyone save me a trip to the dealer? And let me know if you need more info.

 

By the way I have searched and people either say fuse or actuator.. there is no common consensus.

 

Can you open the door? If not there is a spring inside the actuator that snaps and you have to remove the door panel, cut the black box open then pull a rod to pop the door open. Major pain in the ***.

 

Yes sir I can open the door with my key. I have to manually lock it though when I leave.
