Driver side window only goes down about 2"
I am new to this forum and just recently picked up my rx8 last month. I got into my car this morning and attempted to roll down my windows but my driver side window only went down about 2" and stopped. It will roll back up without any problems or noises but will not go down any further than 2". I took my door panel off and the motor seems to be working fine but I am not really sure how to proceed from here in diagnosing this problem. Does anyone have any suggestions or has anyone else had this issue before?
Thanks in advance for any advice.

There is a programmable setting for venting the window at about that height for my car. If yours has that feature maybe it got stuck somehow. Do you have the owners manual? Somewhere it explains how to reprogram it. Maybe you can start there and see if it gets you anywhere.
update
So I decided to take everything apart to have a look. The plastic teeth do not look stripped on both the motor and the spool. It is starting to look like the cable was crossed over on the spool which was preventing it from going any farther than 2". The cable just blew off of the spool when I unscrewed the motor. Now the hard part is trying to put everything back together correctly.
