I'm going to ask a silly question. Do you use Premium fuel?

That marbles in a can sound could be "Detonation". Not the sound you want to hear. If it dies then go to the dealer and tell them, "you have a loss of power and it stalls when you come to a stop". They will check it out.

The term is actually pre-detonation (aka ping, knock, dieseling). It's resultant of lower than needed octane, whereas the fuel vapor ignites prematurely.

Many folks have run 87-89 without incident, but 91 is prefered.

I had a pump jockey put 87 in my car by mistake and ran terribly. Octane boost helped solve the problem asap though.

Mazda specifies 91, so that's OK. Premium around here is 93. A couple of Sunoco stations carry 91 as well, but I don't frequent those.

One of these days, when I'm in a really **** mood, I'll fill with half 93 and half 89.

Low octane can cause knock, but too high octane is just a waste of money. 91 or 93 is best.

Make sure you break it in properly so you don't tear this one up. Oh and next time use the SEARCH function, it's your friend.

Warranty goes with the car. Nobody has to do anything to transfer it to a new owner. Check the FAQs and stickies to see exactly what there is...powetrain to 60K, engine to 100K.

The only problem is that some dealers will insist on seeing full proof of maintenance before honoring the warranty. Most people don't keep oil change records that long, and fewer pass them on to the next owner.

So at least make sure that you keep up with scheduled maintenance from when you got yours, and save all the receipts.

100K Miles or 8 Years, whichever comes first

Applies all ALL Rx-8 from 04-08 not sure about 09+

BUT! there are cases that the previous owners might have void the warranty before hand, the only way to find out is to give MNAO a call and give them your VIN number. they will be able to tell you right away.

I kept all my receipts. but thats because I will keep this car forever and in case if any of my other cars "need" some receipt ... I will have some around to use ... lol !!!
