Cut Sunvisor

so the sunvisor in my 8 was broken (i was planning on fixing it) but my dad borrowed the 8 this weekend and the visor came off and he thought well ill cut the wires and pull it out. i get a phone call saying the the check engine light is on and the radio and clock are not working. anyone have any idea how this could have happened? i wouldnt think cutting the light wires to the visor would do this but i could be wrong.
thank you in advance.

And you would be wrong.

Cutting wires will short them together.
Doing this blew the ROOM fuse in the kick panel.
Replace fuse, disconnect battery for ~10min (to clear the CEL), then reconnect battery and enjoy.

leave them apart. twisting them together is what did the damage. leave them apart and replace the room fuse.
