Creeeeeeky Steering wheel
My steering wheel creeks whenever it is turned slightly, and it is driving me insane! It sounds like a door in a bad horror movie. The sound is coming from where the wheel meets the column. I have tried pressing on the plastic pieces behind the steering wheel with no results. Has anybody else had this issue? A search turned up nothing. If I were to puff a bit of graphite powder in the joint is there a potential that I could harm the electrical connections, or are they well protected?
Thanks for any help.

I strongly feel that it's the clockspring.
Be careful with the airbag if you do. Allow full capacitor discharge (if applicable) before handling the steering wheel.

I doubt you'll find any info here. BMW owners have this issue once in a while.
Try Googling: "Squeak Clockspring" or "Squeak Clock Spring"
I had a slight squeak on my Speed6. I sprayed some dry lube between the two pieces after I removed the airbag and the squeak went away.
