Creamy Brown Engine Oil
Creamy Brown Engine Oil
I recently just bought my RX-8 a month ago and when I originally checked the oil it was a normal engine oil color, now its slightly bubbly and a creamy brown color. What is that? Doesn't look normal to me and I have begun to notice my Oil pressure gauge is higher than normal.
Completely normal. Happens to every single RX-8. Literally hundreds of threads on it and a Google search will show this to be true if you don't believe me.
Just normal condensation in colder temperatures. Get the engine up to temp for long enough and it will boil off and disappear, until you shut down again.
I recommend reading the New Owner's thread in my sig, since this is covered there so I'm guessing you haven't read through it yet. Answers other questions that you don't even know you will have yet.
And your oil pressure gauge has 2 positions: "Yes, you have pressure" (with the needle somewhere "up"), and "No, you don't have pressure" (with the needle somewhere left). Otherwise it won't move unless you are doing a test that uses it as a display or have an electrical fault in the system that is under or over supplying current to the gauge.

i know, they diagnosed it by reputation. its an Rx8, those have the rotary engine, and they are unreliable, we don't need to even open the hood
the car came with all the service records, and the dealer service department was pretty useless too, the OWNER diagnosed any of the problems. every time the dealership had to find something it was a "no problem found"
