It just never happen to me. Both old and new coolant bottle. (old one broke due to defect on the tab, not the sensor)

Smile Fixed Coolant Light...

Ok this is a known issue for all rx8 models.
Though this is not a recall yet they are aware of it.
For those having no warranty with this I do not know the cost for a new tank and sensor.

I have been taking my car into the dealor a few times for this issue now and of course the light did not come on for them when i was there.

Then it got worse and stayed on all the time.
I went back to the dealor and now they said that this is becoming more frequant and knew about the issue.

They ordered me the new tank and new sensor and all is fine now even at high speeds in the 100 degree weather we have been having.

Here is the paperwork that someone might be able to use at the dealor to show them it is a known issue and that it is covered by Mazda.

A small fortune if you install it yourself ..... for getting yours replaced under warranty.

N3H1-15-350L is the latest Coolant Bottle with Sensor, of you are having yours replaced make sure you get the "L", not the J, E, F, G, OR H.

There have been 6 Changes done to this bottle/tank/sensor by Mazda, the word is the L is the "bees knees" and should not give any further issues.....yeah right...

So I've been waiting on a coolant reservoir for a few weeks now. Dealer says they are on national back order and still doesn't know when they are coming. Truth or dealer BS?

(I'm not sure why a dealer would BS about not having the part, but dammit I want my reservoir!)

I pretend the light is my afterburner light that comes on when I floor it on the highway, so I don't mind it. I am OCD about broken stuff on my car. I want to fix it because knowing it's broken bugs the crap out of me!

I just had mine done on an 07 w/ 32K. The dealer has been pretty good to me for many years with several other vehicles. The service writer said that they were on national back order and would take 2 weeks, hopefully. That was 2 weeks ago, they called and replaced it yesterday. Just another data point... Also, I guess they're now trying yet another version - the part number of the tank they installed is N3H1-15-350M - so we're now up to the "M" version apparently...

Wow, old thread. I had same thing happen, so consider this a "me too". Dealership topped coolant off at first but it kept happening. Got the sensor replaced under extended warranty ($100 deductible, feh). New coolant bottle included! I can finally see the fluid level now; the old one was so clouded up.

Well I just finished visiting the dealer for the coolant bottle / reservoir of death. I had the on and off coolant light this weekend and the coolant was just flushed and replaced recently.

I had a faulty coolant sensor - like countless others.

However, it seems they are onto "M" series coolant bottles. The part number I got is: N3H1-15-350M.

You're totally right. Seems like they can't get this part right with this being the 7th revision according your previous post.

Yes, I have seen this many revisions before with some Mazda parts and this bottle being RX-8 specific.

I don't think all the modifications have been because of the level sensor, some owners (in the field) have had the pressure cap neck crack and leak.

But yeah, lets hope the "M" series will finally stop all issues.

Im finally getting mine installed on wednesday after about two months of being backordered, and a few more weeks because of the lack openings for appointments!!

So I take it they also do a complete coolant flush as well?..Because I've been having to top off with prestone repeatedly because of the leak at the neck.

I know its kinda sad but Im pretty psyched about it finally getting installed. I guess Im just tired of that dang coolant light turning on

What a difference in dealership inventory. I roll in a day after making an appointment and get a new one put in and you have to wait 2 months plus time for an appointment.
