Confused! Recall Done But No Re-flash.

Just got back from having recall work done. When I went to leave I was looking over the receipt and it didn't indicate any new flash, just inspection and pad install. I then asked the service manager about a if it was re-flashed to "E"(which I believe is what I should have gotten). He first looked at me kinda dumbfounded then said "no! No new flash or reprogramming for this specific recall". So obviously the only thing that was done was the pad install, nothing else. Now I must admit I haven't been keeping up with the Recall Thread. Did I miss something? According to the info I've read so far I fall into Group 1 and should have gotten the "E" flash. Now before I call MNAO for confirmation I thought I'd ask a few of you experts here on the forum for any answers. I have an '05 and can email or PM you the VIN if needed. Thanks for listening! :D

All group 1 automobiles should get the new flash. It has programming to prevent high heat situations when your car is not moving.

The new flash is part of the recall. When I went for mine, I looked on the receipt and it didn't say anyhting about a flash. I asked the service lady about it and she didn't know and called the tech in who did the recall in. I asked him and he said yes, the PCM was reflashed. Your service manager probably doesn't know what he's talking about. If I were you, I'd ask to talk to the tech that worked on your car and ask them.

Yeah, same thing here. The flash was rolled up into the recall work and not expressed as a separate line item on my receipt. My tech. told me he did it as part of the recall job.

Yeah that's what I thought. This dealership goes through service managers like toilet paper.
I'm assuming if I call they can bring it up in their system that is was or was not re-flashed, the service manager didn't even look, he acted as though he was just giving me answeres off the top of his head . Upon a second inspection I can't seem to find the recall campaign sticker anywhere either.

On page three of the recall info from Rosenthal it indicates "E" for my VIN

Has this changed and maybe I didn't catch it?

Well I just called back to the dealership to speak with the General Manager. beforeI even got my sentence out of my mouth he stopped me and said he was going to direct my call to the Service Manager. Damn these people! That's the one guy I don't want to talk to. Well I guess I'll call the big dogs at MNAO and see if I can get something done.

Well here's the deal. I just got off the phone with MNAO and he had to call the dealership. It's seems that they did actually reprogram the PCM. However MNAO says there should be a sticker on the vehicle indicating this. There wasn't. So the dealership is going to re-print my receipt with the new flash info included. When asked why the sticker wasn't placed on the vehicle the gentlemen from MNAO said he's looking into that. He stated for the record that in the future I speak directly with the tech and not the service manager. Ya know this could have all been avoided had they put the sticker on the car in the first place. Lee from MNAO said for me to call back in a week or so for confirmation. He said by then it should be in their database.

EDIT: Just got a call back from the service manager at the dealership. He apologized for any confusion and stated that he was not aware that the recall also included a re-flash. He stated that they've done probably twenty so far and that no one has asked about it until now. He says in the future they will indicate it on a sticker or on the customer receipt. HA! see what hanging out on the rx8club forum can accomplish. If I hadn't seen it here I would have probably not questioned it at all. :D
