Clicking noise coming from the engine

Hey guys, wondering if anyone has an idea what this could be...

a few days ago I started to hear a clicking noise coming from my engine. It seems to be linked with the RPMs, since it speeds up as i push the gas. I poked around but couldn't find anything loose, and nothing makes the noise go away, it's present from idle to redline, in gear and in neutral. The car is an 04 with about 53k miles on it.

Thanks

like marbles inside the engine ?

so if this the sound that you hears is because of cheap gasoline It happen one time to me. I had to full the tank with Premium gasoline and the noise go away.

OR maybe check out engine belt with his component like A/c,Waterpump ect to see if the sound come from there. If you think that the sound come from there take a long screwdriver put it where you think come out the sound Example if you think come out of the water pump put the screwdriver in the water pump put it in you ear the screwdriver gonna expand the noise take precaution of the belt or running component.

Sounds like what I had many miles ago. The dealership did not put one of the trailing wires snuggly on the sparkplug. The wire was then arcing to the motor.

Hopefully you could just push it on and it will be fixed. Maybe they are just ruined and you should justreplace them.

Good Luck

I also have this same noise. My 8 is 4 years old with 77K on the clock and it started just a month or so ago. It seems to be getting a little louder. The noise does not effect performance at all but annoying. I am using premium gas but the plugs havent been changed since 40K about 2 years ago. Have people had success eliminating this noise replacing plugs? I will certainly try that before taking to the dealer.

To answer my own query and for anyone else searching for "Engine Noise", replacing the plugs did fix the problem.
