Checked my plugs out due to my misfires.

Well today I got off work at 7pm so I had some time to take a look at my plugs, also the spitting was starting to get alittle worse, sputtering more at idle. Pulled the plugs and heres what I got...Let me know what you guys think. Do you think I just found my misfire issue?

Pic 1: Rear rotor T & L (cleaned)
Pic 2: Front rotor T & L (Leading Not cleaned)

Both leadings are burnt up, trailings had normal wear build up.

Any reason why my L plugs are burnt and not my T? Is it because the Leadings are the mains?

That is part of it. The lead plug is the work horse of the combustion process it fires 2 times for one combustion phase.

Lead plug first to start the combustion cycle, Trail plug fires to help start the upper part of the chamber. Lead plug fires again to complete the burn (IE any unburnt gas/air mixture)

I'm 90% sure that's how it fires but I've only read and seen one video so I'm always open for a confirmation or Correction.

If I had to guess I'd say you were running a bit rich in some instances. How many miles are on your 8? Have you changed the ignition coils yet?

Each plug only fires once per combustion event and those plugs look normal.
If the electrode gap can be adjusted to the factory spec (meaning that there is enough electrode left to do so), those plugs can be cleaned with carb cleaner and a plastic-bristle brush and re-used.

Not a problem, Bro. The irony is that the coils we use in our ignition system DO come from a wasted-spark application so they are plenty able to handle the 9K+ rpms capable by the Renesis. Guess who else are now starting to use the coils we use? Hayabusa racers! They are gonna LOVE what BHR has coming up next........

I cleaned them, it made my car start alot faster for a few starts, but that only lasted about a day, now its spitting again, I already have a new set of plugs but haven't had the time to change them just yet.

I have a full exhaust which is going to make my o2 senors read really hot and make me run alot richer...plus im using rb wires so my spark is alot hotter...their burnt. 10k miles on plugs.

How many miles on these coils?
If you don't do anything about those, it's likely your new plugs won't last very long.

They trailing plugs are running too rich. Note how they were shiny and black.

The leading plug is Chocalate brown.

i see, I changed my plugs in like 30 mins today, its idleing smoother, (much less misfiring) and its running better up to 4.5k I suppose.

Now I had to test them and run the car, its still spitting and the power isnt there half the time. It cuts out really bad up top. (like it has been)

Now then, because the plugs took alot of the misfiring out from idle, im almost certain its my coils, but on the other hand, its only cutting up top, leading me towards the fuel pump...but Im no expert.

Ill order some coils probably within next week. Unless you guys think other wise.

If you haven't done them and she didn't provide documentation that she did them...replace them.

Yeah, I'm going to order some next week. Im also swapping my stock exhaust back on, fixing my power steering and resetting my ecu for factory fuel trims.

Also i'm putting my stock ignition wires back on it and radiator cap. (everything is going back to stock because I need something more practical and better daily driven for college. Im looking into an rsx type s. Cheap and k20s run strong for sure.

I still have a turbo rx7, im sure ill always have some rotary car with me at all time. I love rotarys.

But in case you guys are curious, its a boost brother header (just an ebay one) Billy boat midpipe and catback, RB ignition wires. (sounds really freaking good but loud as hell.)

Also, I might sell my system. Custom made by myself and my bro. Very simple and clean setup. (ill post everything up soon enough)
