I recently joined the RX 8 family by purchasing a 2004. Before I bought it, I had the dealer take it to Mazda for a compression check and it failed, getting me a new motor. Less than 24hrs after driving it home the check engine light came on. The codes read P0441, P0661, and P2259. The dealer who installed the engine said I might need to replace a solenoid and tried telling me it was going to cost almost $900 dollars to fix. I think he is on crack and was wondering if anybody had any suggestions or have had this same problem. I'm pretty sure they were trying to get back some of the money they lost rebuilding my engine.

 

Bro we all have trouble with dealerships. You just have to stand your ground and not give them an inch. I'm in the same boat as you, had the local dealership replace my engine and after it was givin back to me I had all sorts of problems. Also you can try calling Mazda of North America and talk to them. I know I was on the phone with them a lot. Good luck in your fight.
