Check engine light

Check engine light
Hey guys, proud new owner of a 2006 manual RX-8. The dealership I bought it from still has it. They say they're waiting on a part from mazda to fix a check engine light. The car has 125,000 KM (I'm in Canada). What do you think this could be? I have credible information (outside of the dealership) that this car was driven properly by an adult driver and was well taken care of. From what I understand, the owner was just done with it and wanted a new car.
I'm thinking its just an exhaust sensor, or the cat. I'm hoping it's the cat just so it's brand new!

Yea, it could be a lot of things. I was just hoping that someone would know of something that could throw the CEL at around this mileage.
I got a 2 year warranty, the car was real cheap, every other RX-8 was about 4k more than this. But like I said I have pretty good word that this car was maintained well. My 03 civic had 175,000 KM on it before it got rear ended and totalled lol so I don't consider 125k on an 06 that overkill.

If they're fixing it, I wouldn't worry about it.
125k Km's (~77.6k miles) on most cars (especially a civic) is ok. That is considered fairly high mileage for a rotary. Well, for an 06.
Not to scare you. Just make sure that all routine maintenance was taken care of.

yea I did quite a bit of research, and I knew a guy a few years ago in college with an 80's RX 7 so I'm pretty sure this car can last a life time as long as I get the oil changed and topped up frequently.
My civic LX cost me $120 a month to insure, this RX-8 costs $101 a month and is double the HP. But like I said I got this car on sale around 4k off so even if I have a few major issues I'll still come out on top.
I didn't really ask what it was because they seemed to not really want to tell me, they just kept saying they haven't gotten around to look at it for like two days

hahaha they just phoned me up today, apparently there was a gasket that was in need of replacement. So it'll be safetied and ready today (thursday) or friday. You think they would have done it before trying to sell it hah but at least I know they looked at everything.
Anyways if you're still reading, I'd like to invest in my car. Other than tires, what would be good to put in my car? I was thinking about changing the ignition stuff so it's all new as winters get up to -50C, sometimes even -60 if we're unlucky. Another is a battery warmer now that I mention cold. Anything else that would be wise to buy?
