CEL p0411

CEL p0411
Did research but none of the situations completely matched mine so here was my experience.
08 manual, Mazdaspeed intake, engine replaced less than 3000 miles ago.
Was experiencing a lack of power above 3500 rpms and a CEL. Went to an OReillys and got the code read. It came up with a misfire code and the p0411 (secondary air injection incorrect flow). When I had my engine replaced in November the dealership warned me that my SSV was sticking but that they had cleaned it. Obviously expecting the worst I started taking off the intake and intake manifold because hey it said secondary in the code and SSV has secondary in its name too, right? Right.
SSV was fine the intake manifold had a little oil residue on it so cleaned it out anyways sprayed a little seafoam on the SSV for my personal benefit and bolted backed together.
Changed spark plugs/wires, inspected air pump, all hoses, everything seemed to be running fine and connected properly. Reset all computers and still a loss of power with the CEL p0411.
Let it run a while at night to it for a drive to get gas. My exhaust smelled different so when I got home I checked under the car and the cat was glowing like a raver at EDC.
Took it to dealership and after two days of diagnosing the cat is clogged and getting replaced.
Hope it helped.

The Secondary air injector is the black air pump on the passenger side (right hand side).
It turns on for a minute or so when the car first starts up to help bring the catalytic convertor up to temperature faster.
So basically its for emissions.
You can buy a plate to block off the Secondary Air Pump, most of the boosted guys I think have it removed.
