Angry CEL flashing and loss of power after 6K

To all you rotorary doctors out there....got rid of stock intake and installed AEM CAI..very impressed with this...looks great...

However, anytime I accelerate around 6 to 7K my CEL will flash and lose power???? CEL will eventually stop once rpms below 6K.

Spark plugs changed...1K ago...still with stock ignition coils and cat. Engine at 76K.

Two questions...1st...dose the ECU store these intermittent codes so they can be read? and WTF is wrong???

Yes... the codes are stored. Places like Autozone can retrieve it for free.

Is you idle rough?
If so, did you cap the VFAD nipple behind the throttle body as instructed?
Also check the two screens in the couplers and verify they aren't horizontal or damaged.
Check the o-ring around the MAF sensor and make sure its not damaged.

Since you had the plugs changed 1K miles ago, ensure the plug wires didn't come loose (been known to happen).
But since the intake install was the most recent thing you did before this problem, I would focus on the install.
Guess the question too would be... did this occur right after the intake install or did it run fine for a while?

If you are still on stock coils that is almost certainly the problem.
