Catalytic Converter...
Anyone else had a catalytic converter go on them? I'm wondering if this is something that gradually goes, and therefore may be the cause of my extremely poor gas mileage?
Also wondering what's immediately around the catalytic converter that would have burned causing smoke to enter the vehicle through the floor and e-brake base (which, by the way, was not a fun experience). The smell was horrible, but not an oil/gas...
Any comments would be appreciated...

rotary god just created a thread call "advance renesis tech" here's the link:
https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-tech-garage-22/advanced-renesis-tech-99617/
there is a really good right up to how and why the Cat fails more often on the rx8.
as for the smoke into the cabin, i would "guess" that is a symptom of your cat failure, not sure though from not experiencing something like that.
