car running really rich

i think my car is running really rich. the exhaust sound is VERY deep and the car feels like its towing something(very sluggish)

this first started a few weeks ago when i was leaving work and i gave it on a curve(not hard, just enough to make the drive fun)

while giving it the CEL came on flashing, after a few sec of flashing it turned off.

after that the car was running sluggish

also since then if i rev it past like 6 or 7k the CEL light will flash

also a couple days after the first occurrence(and a few times since) the CEL actually stayed on solid but went away after the 3 power cycles

now from reading up on the forums here i believe the flashing CEL means misfire and i confirmed this with an engine code reader

i have purchased new spark plugs, ignition coils and plugs

i have also been looking into an o2 sensor (because of the engine running rich even with the CEL off)

any thoughts or similar incidents?

also is 155 miles(250km) to 13.2gal (50L) standard?

155 miles is pretty low, I will get 240 miles before my light comes on.
Change those plugs, coils, and wires.........immediately then possibly you can move on to the CAT and possible o2 sensor if that doesn't solve it. If you keep running it as it, IMHO.............you will take out the CAT in short order even if it's okay now.

If your cat isn't bad now, if you continue to drive it that way it will be. Try coils and plugs first.
